DescriptionTo settle a case brought by Prior John [?Chatham] against Archbishop Edmund of Abingdon. Concerning the advowson of churches of priory manors; certain dues ('exennia') claimed from priory manors by the archbishop; 'Syrle' marshes ('more et marisci') and fisheries; the appointment of priory obedientiaries and officials; money due in compensation after the relaxation of King John's Interdict; the procedure for electing the prior of Dover; the return of royal writs; and other legal rights. Detailed account of settlement of issue of marshes and fisheries. Priory's part of indenture.
