By a lease dated 26 Aug 1537, recited, the priory leased to Thomas its manors of Copton, Selgrave and Ham [all in Preston, Kent], with stock as specified, for 21 years. For annual payments of £22, 42 quarters of wheat and 42 quarters of barley. Reserving certain rights and dues to the priory. Details of hospitality dues, conditions on husbandry and repairs, and other conditions. Details of bond made by Thomas, William Eastlocke, Laurence Manby and John Goodhew for the fulfilment of the terms of the lease, bearing same date. Thomas surrendered the lease to Richard Riche, knight, chancellor of the Court of Augmentations. The king regrants the lease to Thomas for 21 years. For an annual payment of £43. Clerk's name given as Duke. With Thomas's signature on plica.
