| Description | From: Stephen Browne of Cliffe To: Thomas Goldstone, III, prior of Canterbury Cathedral Priory Stephen has received a marsh called 'lambhope' with 1 acre of meadow lying in Redham [in Cliffe at Hoo] and 200 ewes, price 20d each, and another marsh called the third ('tercius') 'suthmersh' alias lentwyke' with 3 roods of arable land lying in the parish of Cliffe at Hoo in a field called 'le westfelde' with 100 sheep, price 20s each, from the prior and convent. For a term of 7 years. For an annual payment of 17 marks with the tithe ('decima'), payable as specified in the priory's manor of Cliffe. Conditions on husbandry and maintaining the marshes and other conditions. Stephen binds himself to observe the terms of the lease and has found Thomas Ussher' and John Polleyn' as sureties.
