320 oak and beech trees, growing in a place called Hockenden ('Hokyndenn'') in the parish of St Mary Cray, Kent, to be chosen and felled by Nicholas and taken away by him within 3 years by the ways and gates which he shall choose and prepare at his own expense. For a payment of £60, of which Nicholas has paid £40 at the making of these presents and will pay the remainder as specified in the priory's treasury at Canterbury. If Nicholas defaults in the payment, the priory may seize all the trees both growing there and felled and dispose of them. If any other tree is damaged by the felling, the priory shall have no claim against Nicholas. Priory's part of indenture. Given at Canterbury.
