[Document damaged. Small area of text lost at beginning.] Recites Henry VII's letter to William, dated 25 Jul at Nottingham Castle. This states that the king has recently appointed commissioners of array in Kent, Canterbury and the Cinque Ports to raise money for his journey to the north. Many of the king's subjects within the Cinque Ports have refused to pay. The king therefore charges William to ensure that anyone summoned by the commissioners appears before them and obeys their commands. William charges the bailiffs and jurats of Hastings, with Sir John Gildeford, knight, one of the commissioners of array, to execute the king's command. No date.
