Land lying at 'salthelle' [in Canterbury] outside Newingate which was of Elviva de salthelle widow of Randal, lying with the land of Simon chig to south and the land which was of Osbert pret to north, 35 feet wide upon the king's highway and 100 feet long. Also an annual payment of 21d, payable as specified by Simon chig for a south part of the land. For annual payments of 32d to the treasurers of Canterbury Cathedral Priory, 6d to Terricus the goldsmith ('aurifaber') and 2d to Robert, all payable as specified. Made and recorded at Newingate hundred court. For this Walter has also paid 2 marks 8s 8d as a gersum fine. No date. [Date: handwriting and witnesses to other Canterbury charters.]
