Simon quitclaims to Walter for his right in the inheritance which was of Christina, Walter's mother, and William, Walter's father, in houses, tenements, rents and other property [in Canterbury], except for the capital messuage in which Christina and William lived, which will remain to Simon and his heirs by Avice, Walter's sister. For an annual payment of 6s 8d, payable as specified to Walter or whoever he wishes to assign it to, not excluding the heirs of Simon and Avice. Simon cannot sell, mortgage or alienate the messuage without the consent of Walter and Avice. The agreement was made by the arbitration of Mgr William Terrici, James de hage, Arnold Ferre and Richard, steward of St Augustine's Abbey ('senescallus de sancto Augustino'), and Roger de la le, chosen with the consent of Walter and Simon. Recorded at the borough moot of the city of Canterbury and the capital court ('capitalis curia') of the prior of Canterbury Cathedral Priory. Dated 2HenIII, no month. Simon's part of indenture.
