A payment of 13d, payable as specified by William Akerman for his messuage which lies between the orchard of the monks of Canterbury Cathedral Priory and the king's highway and by Simon the chaplain ('Cappellanus') for a messuage which lies between the messuage and the land of Jordan the saucer ('salsarius'). For annual payments of 5d to the treasury of Canterbury Cathedral Priory and 1d as a quit-rent ('forgabulum') to William, both payable as specified. Made and recorded at the hundred court of Northgate [in Canterbury] and the court of the prior of Canterbury Cathedral Priory. For this Geoffrey has paid 4s 6d as a gersum fine. No date. [Date: handwriting and witnesses to other Canterbury charters.]
