Thomas Woode owes the priory rents of 17s 5½d a year, payable as specified for various lands in Canterbury, including lands in the parishes of St Mary de Castro and St Mildred. [Details of the lands, including names of previous tenants and amounts payable for each piece of land, given.] He had paid the rents for at least 20 years but owed a year's rent and has now paid the prior 17s 5½d, which has been delivered to 'Dompn'' John Crosse, II, and 'Dompn'' John Shepey, II, the priory's treasurers. If Thomas Woode pays the rent as specified in future the prior will acquit him of all arrears due at 2 Oct last. If the rent falls into arrears in future, however, the prior may distrain in the lands for the new arrears and any arrears owed during the past 20 years. If Thomas Woode can prove that someone else is seised of any of the lands he shall not be liable for the rents due from them, and if the prior can prove that he should pay more rent for those lands or any others he shall pay it.
