The abbey has granted the priory certain lands it has south of the priory's cemetery for which the abbey receives a total annual payment of 22s 11d, payable as specified, namely 4 pieces of land of Matilda daughter of Hamo the steward ('dapifer'), the land of Willliam the furbisher ('furbator'), the land of William son of Richild, for which the abbey pays 20d for the king's farm ('firma'), the land of Baldwin of Chart, priest ('presbiter') and David his brother, the land of Philip the parmenter ('parmentarius'), the land which was of Everwecher and the land which was of Mudechin and Sedegos, and the land on which a chapel had been built. These lands were dangerous to the cathedral church because of frequent fires, so the abbey, at the request of King Henry II, has granted them to the priory. The lands are free of all disputes, reserving the rights of the tenants. In exchange the priory has granted the abbey certain lands of the abbey's choice for which the priory receives a total annual payment of 22s 2d, payable as specified, namely the land of Robert son of Richard Flawold, the land on which John son of Robert lives, the land of William son of Winedei, the land of Burwen, the land of Basilia of Thannington, the land on which Ruelinus the Fleming ('Flandrensis') lives, the land of Christiana who was the wife of Robert son of Henry, the land of Benedict the priest ('presbiter'), the land of Cecilia daughter of Gerald, the land of William de lisinges, the land of Godwin Muschet, the land of Brichtiva ('Brihtiva') daughter of Rembert, the land of Hereward lorimer, the land of Bartholomew the steward ('seneschallus') and the land of Geoffrey son of Raymond. The lands are free of all disputes, reserving the rights of the tenants. The priory is also to pay the 20d for the king's farm which the abbey used to pay for the land of William son of Richild.
