[Document damaged. Some text lost at right. Names of some quitclaimers and other details supplied from registered version.] William Phelp, now deceased, assigned certain possessions and chattels to the value of 180 marks in his last will to found a chapel for his soul in the church, but the goods assigned were insufficient for this purpose. 'Dominus' Thomas Arundel, archbishop of Canterbury, decreed that part of the goods should be assigned for the increase of the church, so that it should be rendered more honourable according to the deceased's primary intention, and the rest should be delivered to the priory for perpetually remembering his soul there.
Robert, Henry, John Pachet, John Cherche, Thomas, William Colkyn, William Wodeland, Godfrey, John Culmere, John Austyn, William Maryon', John Pakkere, John Staundon', Bartholomew and John Tannere quitclaim to the priory for all personal actions they have against it because of the 180 marks received from William Phelp's goods and delivered to John Fynch, late prior, under certain conditions.
Given at Canterbury.
