Granting that elections of major and minor prelates in cathedrals, churches and religious houses throughout England should be free. Made with the consent of his barons. He will retain custody of those churches and monasteries that belong to him when they are vacant. Further terms given for elections.
An agreement has been made between him and Stephen [Langton], archbishop of Canterbury, William [of Sainte-Mère-Église], bishop of London, Eustace, bishop of Ely, Giles [de Braose], bishop of Hereford, Jocelin [of Wells], bishop of Bath and Glastonbury, and Hugh [of Wells], bishop of Lincoln, concerning damages incurred during the Interdict. Given by Richard Marsh ('de marisco'), royal chancellor.
Given at the New Temple, London.
