At the presentation of Mgr Hamo Doge, rector of St Paul's church, Canterbury, with the consent of Roger of Chichester, abbot of St Augustine's Abbey, Canterbury, and the convent of St Augustine's Abbey, who are patrons of the church, Hugh has instituted and admitted Virgil de Altha', chaplain ('capellanus'), as vicar of St Paul's. Reserving to Hamo an annual payment of 8 marks, payable as specified from the said vicarage. The vicar shall pay the archdeacon's procurations and support all ordinary financial burdens. He shall receive all income and offerings belonging to the church except from corn and beans in the fields. Sealed with the seal of the officiality of the court of Canterbury. Given at Canterbury.
