A payment of 2s, payable for the land which was of Samuel the draper ('draperius') in St Mary Northgate parish [in Canterbury], lying with the land of Samuel's heirs to east, the land of the heirs of Robert Sacur to west and the king's highway which goes from the mill of the abbot [of St Augustine's Abbey] to Northgate to north. For annual payments of 12d to the treasury of Canterbury Cathedral Priory and ½d to William son of William as a quit-rent ('forgabulum'), both payable as specified. Made and recorded in Northgate hundred court. For this William de valencius has paid 20s as a gersum fine. No date. [Date: handwriting and witnesses to other Canterbury charters.]

Endorsed with description and note that by this charter William de valencius gave the priory the said rent besides 12½d for the smaller house which was of Osbert in mid 13th century and 'Northgate' in late 13th cent hand.
