Addressed to the archbishop, called the king's 'consanguineus', and prior; Thomas de Mortuo Mare, steward of the liberty [li..., rest damaged] of Bury St Edmunds Abbey; the sheriff of Suffolk; and the abbot. He cites the parties to appear with their written evidence before his council at Westminster on 13 Oct. Letter from king to the sheriff of Kent, dated 28 May. Philip Len'ham and Thomas Bakere seised livestock at Monkton in Thanet, which belonged to John Pyncham, priory tenant, who was hanged for felony, and which should have fallen to the priory.
