Land in the parish of Purleigh [Essex], west of the church, between the land which belonged to Ralph of Witham and the land of Purleigh church, and between the ruinous cross and the ditch which encloses the priory wood. Also the small wood which lies between the highway and the wood of John de Munvirun. William of Purl[eigh] held both this land and this wood from the priory but has resigned them. For an annual payment of 5s and for representation at the court baron at Lawling. No date. [Date: dates of John Sittingbourne, I, and John Chatham, priors. The abbey at Maldon, a Premonstratensian house, later became known as Beeleigh.]
