Description | From: Guiscard, archbishop of Lyon To: Richard of Dover, archbishop of Canterbury
Of Quincy ('terra de Quinciaco') and the house in his cloister ('claustrum') which was bought from William, bishop 'Morianen'' [ie St Jean de Maurienne, Savoie, France], and Burn' his nephew. Richard must provide 4 days annually of 'servicium refectoris'. After the martyred Becket has been translated, the fourth day of this should be on the translation day. If the archbishop builds a castle on the ground, his canons, knights and their men can take undisturbed refuge there. Annually in each cathedral, the anniversary of the other cathedral's archbishop will be celebrated and masses said for its dead. Granted with the assent of his chapter. No date. [Date: Guiscard was archbishop from 1165 to 1180, and Richard from 1174 to 1184.]
