DescriptionAccount of activities of Thomas de Fyndone, abbot of St Augustine's, during the provincial council summoned by Winchelsey to begin on 24 Nov to consider the Order of the Knights Templars. On 24 Nov the abbot presented claims ('propositio et protestationes'), recited, at St Paul's Cathedral. Mgr John de Grave, clerk, read them out. They relate to the abbey's claims to exemption from ordinary jurisdiction.
Further account of following days, including discussions between the abbot with named clerks at Lambeth on 27 Nov. Original written by William son of William-dictus-le-Dorturere of Selborne, Winchester diocese, notary public. No date. [Date: date of original.]
