Addressed to the archdeacon or his official. Recites a letter from Pope Boniface VIII appointing the abbots, together with the abbot of Bury St Edmunds, as conservators of the exemptions and privileges which the pope has granted to St Augustine's Abbey. The pope outlines the terms and background of the privilege. Pope's letter dated 27 Feb 1300, at the Lateran. Notifying him of this and asking him to observe the privilege. Dated by the abbot of Westminster 30 Apr, at Westminster, and by the abbot of Waltham 2 May, at Waltham.
