Relates to dispute between the archdeacon of Canterbury and the priory. Robert is auditor of contradictory letters. The archdeacon has impetrated a letter from Pope Gregory IX to O[tto], cardinal deacon of St Nicholas in Carcere, recited, dated 20 May 1238, at the Lateran. Thomas, monk and priory proctor, objected to this, but Robert has resolved this issue. No date. [Date; date of Gregory IX's letter.] [For further details of Robert, see Sayers, as below, p325n.]
