DescriptionOf letter from the prior and chapter to Pope John XXII announcing their election of John de Stratford, bishop of Winchester, to succeed Archbishop Simon de Meopham. They are sending Richard de Willardeseye and Hugh de Sancto Ivone, monks, to Rome. Mgri John de Wymbourne and William de Natyndon', notaries public, Mgr Thomas of Canterbury, and Alexander Havekyn were also present.
With notarial sign of Simon de Cherryng, of Canterbury diocese, notary public, who wrote the document.

Endorsed with 'Potestas Instructorum' in contemporary hand.
