Description | From: John Morton, archbishop of Canterbury To: Edward Payn, 'in sacra theologia et decretis baccalarius'; John Mowyer, 'in sacra theologia et decretis baccalarius'; Thomas Copland, 'in sacra theologia et decretis baccalarius'
A dispute has recently arisen between the cathedral priory and St Martin's Priory, Dover, owners of the churches of Fairfield and Appledore respectively, over the boundaries of the marshes of 'Ketemersh' and 'Bekard'. Also, Dover Priory is in dispute with 'Dominus' Thomas Woode, rector of Kenardington, over the boundaries of half of 'Tippendich' marsh, alias 'Estmersh'. The archbishop asks for witnesses to be examined in order to establish the boundaries and the parishes in which the marshes lie. John Guldeford, knight, may provide advice. An account of the inquisition, attested by a notary public, should be given to the archbishop or to his commissary in the matter. Given at Lambeth [Surrey]. |
