DescriptionSettlement establishing the supremacy of the archbishop of Canterbury over the archbishop of York. Made in accordance with orders from Pope Alexander II. The case was first heard at Winchester at Easter [ie 8 Apr], in the royal chapel in the castle. It was then heard at Windsor at Pentecost [ie 27 May], where the final settlement, as recorded in this document, was made. Subscriptions of witnesses with crosses.
