Writing on behalf of Elizabeth, widow of Edward Colborne, who leased the rectory of Bramford, Suffolk, on 26 Jun 1641. Details of lease given. Edward died in debt, with the chancel of the church and glebe buildings delapidated, and tithes unpaid. The lease was mortgaged to Smyth who bought the glebe lands in 1650 in order to prevent an army captain from doing so. He asks that the original lease stand good. |
