Date7 Nov 1737
DescriptionWriter: Clarke, Robert, Sir
Addressee: Lynch, John, dean of Canterbury Cathedral

Concerning the renewal of his lease of the rectory of Exning [Suffolk]. The Chapter had refused this because they had heard that the chancel of the church was in bad repair. Clarke says that this is not true. Undated note by Lynch to another, addressed 'Brother': the archdeacon [Samuel Lisle] or [William] Geekie [prebendary] should write to Mr [John] Welles and ask him to send someone to inspect the church. Contemporary endorsement: calculations.
