[no date] Concerns Canterbury during the Civil War. Upon the request of Dr [Samuel] Baker [prebendary], Peirce preached a sermon in which he deplored the destruction in the Cathedral. Because of this he was captured during the night and imprisoned. After release he fled the country. He asks for payment for the sermon, not yet delivered. [Date: see DCc/Cant Let 86). |
