Description | Writer: Sweir, G. Addressee: Browne, Leonard, notary public, of Canterbury
The archbishop of Canterbury appointed him principal official and granted him the jurisdiction of all peculiars. He retained only the peculiars of the deanery of the Arches [London], Shoreham [Kent], Croydon [Surrey] and Monks Risborough [Buckinghamshire]. He thinks that these grants were never confirmed by the Dean and Chapter and asks to be allowed to continue the duties sede vacante. Endorsement by Bunce: 'Ancient Letters to and from Various Persons in several years no. 2'.
