The archbishop of Canterbury appointed him principal official and granted him the jurisdiction of all peculiars. He retained only the peculiars of the deanery of the Arches [London], Shoreham [Kent], Croydon [Surrey] and Monks Risborough [Buckinghamshire]. He thinks that these grants were never confirmed by the Dean and Chapter and asks to be allowed to continue the duties sede vacante. Endorsement by Bunce: 'Ancient Letters to and from Various Persons in several years no. 2'.
