TitleLetter
Date13 Jun 1661
DescriptionWriter: Harrison, Isaac
Addressee: Turner, Thomas, dean of Canterbury Cathedral

Addressed to the dean's house in London. Harrison purchased cathedral lands [in Hadleigh] during the Commonwealth and is now in debt. His case has been discussed before the Commissioners [investigating the Sale of Church and Crown Lands]. He encloses a suggestion for the Chapter [DCc/Cant Let 131]. Mr Eldred, the present lessee of the land, has not been a good tenant. He was involved in fencing off a piece of the manor's waste land and felling the trees, about which the town's butchers protested.
