Description | Writer: Warner, John, bishop of Rochester Addressee: Turner, Thomas, dean of Canterbury Cathedral, and chapter
He has rejected advice from others to petition Charles II for other clerics to be consulted about the Chapter's decree of 25 Nov 1642 concerning his lease of Monkton. He submits to the decree of 8 Jul [1661] and remains favourable towards the Dean and Chapter. He has been allowed for his new lease to exchange the life of John Bridgman for another. He asks for a reasonable fine for exchanging for the lives of others those of Swinson and Broughton, who are both about 53. Dr [John] Lee [archdeacon of Rochester] had brought letters from the Dean and Chapter to him. |
