| Description | The first entry in this volume is for 2 Jun 1670 and the last for 30 Dec 1710. Part of the gap in the series from 1628-1670 (ie that of 1643-1660) was caused by the suspension of the Dean and Chapter during the Commonwealth period, and the other missing years must have been destroyed in the audit house fire.
There is a general index on ff250-261r which includes lists of Canterbury tenants by parish on ff252-254. On ff261v-265 are to be found lists of confirmations, answers, prebendal installations, licences, letters of attorney, presentations and patents. An index of orders and decrees is listed on ff266-269, while f271v-272r has an index of appointments of minor canons, bellringer, organists etc There is an index to hospitals on f273r.
Reversed on the last pages of the book are a list of deans and canons and of the livings belonging to Christ Church. |
