| Description | Southchurch is just outside Southend, on the south east coast of Essex. Accounts only survive form the mid 1350s, drawn up by a serjeant, recording his receipts and expenses, with accounts of corn, stock, and works on the dorse. By 1390, the estate is let and a farmer accounts for his farm and building expenses, and also initially for corn and stock. |
