TitleHOLLINGBOURNE
Date1276-1454
DescriptionHollingbourne manor lies on the southern slopes of the North Downs, to the east of Maidstone. Its accounts first appear in 1276 and from 1278 it is being accounted for by a serjeant, recording his receipts and expenses, with accounts for corn and stock and occasionally an inventory of stock at the year end. Hollingbourne seems to have been somewhat ahead of the rest of the priory's manors in first having an accounting bedel, from 1339, and being let to farm, from 1376.
