| Description | Barksore manor lies on the marshy north coast of Kent, between Gillingham and Sittingbourne. Accounts survive from 1278 for a serjeant, recording his receipts and expenses, corn and stock accounts, with sometimes attached inventories of the manorial stock. By 1400, the manor had been let to a farmer, who thence accounts for his rent and repairs. |
