Pencil sketches, water colours, monochromes, chiefly of Canterbury and the surrounding district but including some views of Gloucester, Southampton and Italy and elsewhere. The album was given by Miss Spry Bailey of Australia. These sketches seem to have been done by Miss Louisa Helps, kinswoman of the donor c1837-1858. Correspondence relating to the album is inserted in the last pages. |
