Samuel Parker (1640-1688) became chaplain to Archbishop Sheldon and rector of Chartham in 1667. He became archdeacon of Canterbury in 1670. He was appointed as bishop of Oxford in 1686, becoming president of Magdalen College Oxford in 1687. Despite these Canterbury connections, it is not clear why this book catalogue is here.
Samuel Parker's second son was also called Samuel (1681-1730). A theological writer, he spent most of his life in Oxford. |
