| Description | Writer: Hannam, George, of Alland Grange Addressee: Starr, Thomas, Auditor
Concerning a dispute over fees between himself and his brother, as lessees of Alland Grange rectory, on the one hand and Mr Simons, vicar of Minster, on the other. Mr Simons claims fees similar to those fixed by Mr Bayley at Margate, specifically for a vault erected in the church by Mr Hannam. The Hannam family have always paid for repairs to Minster church, despite this not being specified in their lease, and fees have been paid to them, not to the vicar, as illustrated in the case of a monument recently erected in memory of the Belsey family. Includes copies of letters from Mr Simons's daughter to Mr Hannam, and from Mr Hannam to Mr Simons. Written at Alland Grange, Kent |
