The Cathedral Archives holds an extraordinarily rich and varied collection dating from the 8th century to the present day. We care for the records of Canterbury Cathedral, Canterbury City and District, the Diocese of Canterbury, parishes in East Kent, and many local individuals and institutions. Please see our webpages for a fuller summary of our holdings.

For the collections of Canterbury Cathedral Library, please see the Library's webpages.

For the collections of Kent County Council's archives service, please see its online catalogue.

Important, please note:The archive collection of the Diocese of Canterbury has been moved to the Kent History and Library Centre. This collection consists of items with the DCb prefix in the reference, and includes tithe records, church court records, visitation records. The records of East Kent Parishes (with the U3 prefix, including registers of baptisms, marriages and burials) remain at the Cathedral Archives.
